just a small additional note:

i received yet another manacing, threatening phone call from aunt barb demanding i make sure you all know she is not as "terrible" as i made her seem in the previous entry. whether she actually is or not is up to the reader to decide. as for me, i fear for my life so i better keep updating.

Monday, October 02, 2006

so apparently my lack of updating affects not only my own blog, but the blogs of my darling cousins as well. i have received two phone calls from aunt barb demanding (i'm sure it would have been at gunpoint had it been in person) that i update my little blog.

much has happened, and fortunately for you i don't remember most of it so i won't bore you with the blandness. however, i will update about yesterday.

i met three friends at 7 am yesterday so we could all go to ocean city, md. it was an awesome day; didn't really rain much, store sales, good food, a crane machine that only cost 10 cents per try, etc etc.

oh, and cool story. at around 10 or so last night we went to Boardwalk Fries to just get a snack. we decided to get a bucket of fries and split it amongst the four of us, but we didn't take tax into account when we were figuring how much we would have to pay. the guy who owned the place, however, said it was fine and to not worry about the money we didn't have. then another guy came up to get some fries for his family and he asked us if we were all sharing the bucket and we said yeah. then he goes "get them another bucket, but put it on my bill." so this guy bought us another bucket (which cost over $9 by the way) because he said one bucket just wasn't enough to split between four people. it was so nice of him so we were talking to him after and we found out that his wife had thyroid cancer as did roger (one of the guys in my group). it was just cool. the whole day was amazing and a lot of fun. that's enough of an update for now

well impatient family members (cough cough julie) i have had many things on my plate. like school. first week of school = crazy and i work everyday. so HA. ok, pictures:

this is jason, me and mike. i hung out with them most during the cruise. cool kids right there.

this is caitlin. we had a lot of fun

this is mitch. we were an amazing foosball team. UNBEATABLEEEEEEEEEEEE

this is brady. he's deaf so we learned some sign language. i played cards with him a lot...and always lost

mike, suzie and shana. the ultimate party people. we kept things fun.

so that's all the pictures i'm allowed for this post i guess. i'll put another one up with digital camera pictures

Sunday, September 03, 2006

*sigh* i hang my head in shame. i have so much to update about (school, cruise, etc.) and i have done absolutely NOTHING to inform my dear friends and family of my current goings on. and i would now, but all my pictures are on the other computer and dad is on that one looking at football nonsense. SOOOOOOOOOOO when i actually have time and get the chance i will update for you whitney-lovers. =D

yesterday dad left to go to san fransisco. all i know is he better bring back some presents for his favorite daughter!

last night i went to the evening service at church where the whole mission trip team was to talk to the congregation about new york. it was a lot of fun talking about all the crazy times on that trip. gregg messing with the showers and corinne and my sweet revenge on him, me sitting in gum, etc etc. then i went to rockfield creative playground (i love that place...i'm a kid inside) and then to see "the devil wears prada." i thought the movie could have been better, but it was decent. funny in the beginning then, as henry put it, "sad because her life sucked at the end." now i'm just killing time before work, but i have run out of things to say. later, dudes.

Saturday, July 22, 2006

so i have been yelled at by naomi (who, for the record, i don't even think HAS a blog) for not updating but i at least have a reason for not posting in the last week. i was in new york on a mission trip with my youth group. we went to brooklyn liberty port church of the nazarene and did some small projects there. my job was to paint worship banners for the sanctuary:

aren't you all proud you have such an artistic relative? you should be. other pictures that made me smile:
this is corinne. she's crazy. hence the shirt.

we saw some pretty weird mannequins. couldn't miss a photo op.

we found some toilet paper that said "wipe out terrorism" and had a picture of bin laden on it. i laughed.

barbie house! part of the 3-story toys r us in times square

this picture is sideways BUT it's a wall that was donated by...a show who's name i forget at the moment but it is signed by a lot of famous people like cindy crawford, jimmy carter, randy travis, liam neeson, etc. they're selling it on ebay and i just thought it was cool. i'll put up more later :-)

we got home pretty late last night, and it was rough getting up for work this morning. however, thanks to my darling aunts and cousins my diapering skills were sharper than ever. i even got off early, a whole 2 and a half hours early.

then we had a softball game. it was close, but we still lost 7-5. but my team member's "male friend" brought a grill and made us hot dogs and burgers, which were wonderful if a bit charcoaly.

and today's humor: at 9:30 mom decides she wants some cold stone ice cream so dad and i trek down there. it's thundering, but no rain. by the time we get our ice cream, it is pouring out. dad has the brilliant idea to have me go get the car so he can "protect the ice cream" and since i'm such a wonderful daughter, i agree. as soon as i stepped outside, i was soaked and i started running. i lost my shoe, however, and half of the customers in cold stone began to laugh. i got to the car and i was dripping wet, then i had to pull into another parking spot to get my dad, open the door for him, pull in the driveway at home so he could get out then run up after i parked in the street. what a wet, drippy mess. the ice cream was good, though = D

Saturday, July 01, 2006

so today i had a softball game. i left my house at 8:30 and got back just a few minutes ago. seems like it took forever. BUT, we won! 22-1! i don't think we've ever had 22 runs. even if you add up ALL our runs for the entire season, i don't think they would total 22. it's amazing. but it was really hot outside, and i'm glad to be back in the air conditioning. HOWEVER, if my dad would buy me a trampoline *cough cough* i would probably be out exercising on it now. silly dads.

yes, my family, i am updating. a once-in-a-long-while occasion, so savor it my dear relatives. not much is happening on the bel air front, but apparently we're going to garrett county for yet another feeding frenzy? oh i mean reunion.

in more recent news, i went to see the movie "cars" tonight. i don't know if you guys have seen it, but it was pretty amazing. i recommend it to anyone. i laughed through the whole thing, it was so cute.

i've been workin a lot lately. my days have been filled with children running rampant stealing toys from each other. today's big event was corbin getting hold of a permanent marker and proceeding to draw all over his legs. it didn't come off, so he had squiggles all over himself all day. luckily, his mom is a very gracious, good-natured woman who didn't mind. if i can figure out how to get pictures from my cell phone onto the computer, i can post images of those little bundles of joy i watch on a daily basis. until then, my darlings.

guten tag, meine familie. i figure the fact that summer vacation is FINALLY here means i should update. so here goes.

SUMMERTIME!!!!! o i love summer. ice cream, looking at the stars, swimming, vacation, no homework...the list just goes on and on and on. i have been working a lot, though.

for those of you who didn't know, i have a job at Hickory Child Development Center. i work with the infants and one-year-olds. there aren't many kids in my room, but they keep me busy. And they're all so smart. of course, not any smarter than MY beautiful cousins were when they were one. =D. i'll probably write more later. Love.

So how's everyone doin today?

It was a pretty good day. I got to catch up on all the sleep I missed which was absolutely wonderful. And when I got up, I found that Dad had made chocolate-chip pancakes. By far the best breakfast ever created, don't argue. Then we went to see Over the Hedge. It was such a kiddie movie, otherwise I probably would have liked it. There was one part where I laughed really hard, but I can't even remember what it was. BUT then we went to Olive Garden and I had that new chicken caprese thing...MMMMM

Now I'm just trying to kill time before I go to rock 'n bowl...OOO so fun
Today was an EXCELLENT day. In drama, we watched Mulan. In German, we did basically nothing because we were all feeling pretty lazy. In chemistry, we took a crazy quiz. My teacher wrote all the answers outside on the ground, walls, doors and posts and we had to match them to the questions on the quiz. It was a lot of fun and just about everyone got 100%. In English, we finished the book The Fountainhead (too long and super boring) so we are watching the movie (which is even worse). And finally, in creative writing, all the seniors left so there were only three of us in class and we chit-chatted all period.

Then later tonight I went out with Theresa, Alex, Henry and Katie to get pizza. Then we watched Catch Me If You Can at Theresa's house. I know it sounds boring, but when you have friends like mine you can't stop laughing.

So that was my day, hope you enjoyed hearing about it. Love to all.

Tuesday, May 16, 2006

I have come to the realization that i am horrible at updating my blog. I think I found a few reasons why:
~I'm super forgetful
~My life is boring and there is rarely anything to update
~The internet is slow and by the time i try to submit an entry it fails miserably and i feel like smashing the computer in but then I'd probably be sent to anger management or at least have to buy a new computer and (like all teenagers) I just don't have that kind of money

That's all I came up with, but I will now update you all on what is going on in my life. YAY for you!

Some of you know that I play on a women's softball league for my church, and we all thought we were pretty stinky. But haHA *triumphant laugh* we are not as bad as we thought for we have won our last two games. I've done pretty well, and a lot of my friends are on the team so it's a lot of fun.

In school, my time has been spent trying to ward off a case of senioritis. Yes, I am only a junior, but school is not how I want to spend my time. However, it has its strong points. My creative writing class assignment is to put on a puppet show and I creatively wrote a Spanish Soap Opera involving such characters as Rodrigo, Maria, and Fernando, who only has one eye because we have cheap glue. Poor Fernando. Next week, however, I get to go to school a whole 3 1/2 hours late every day due to testing! Ah, the sleep i shall have.

Oh and Aunt Julie: The Blue's Clues dvd is on the way...it has 5 episodes on it and yes, i shamefully admit, I watched them. That Blue is just so clever! She taught me lots of Spanish, which helped me in writing my soap opera! Ha ha.

There was more I was planning on writing, but I think that is enough boredom for all of you. Auf Wiedersehen!

SPRING FORMAL PICTURES! I don't know how to line up text, but pictures are of me and my date, Henry, the group is Chelsea, Patrick, Me, Henry, Brittany and Alex, and the last one is me and Brittany

Saturday, April 29, 2006

Today is my Spring Formal...I'm so excited! I just got back from getting my hair done and I think it's adorable. I'll try to put pictures up for all you aunts later.

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

So today was my first day back at school. I don't think I need to say that I was not excited in the least, but I will. I was not excited in the least. However, I did get a lot of attention (and who doesn't like attention?). Hugs galore. Most of the day consisted not of discussing intellectual things regarding our studies, but the upcoming dance on Saturday. That I am excited about!

I missed five days of school, and I surprisingly have little or no make-up work in each of my classes. I only have to take a test for my AP class, but that's about it. Pretty nice, I know. I guess getting my tonsils out over spring break was a good idea in the grand scheme of things, but I still regret giving up my vacation :-(

MOVING ON...to what? I don't know. It will remain a mystery until my next update.

Saturday, April 22, 2006

I just woke up today and I couldn't make it another minute without posting on my blog...ok I'm just avoiding my homework. Today was a good day. I think I am definitely through the worst of my recovery, just a little pain when i swallow and some discomfort every now and then. I still have to take my medicine, which is really a losing battle for me. The prescription stuff works best, but it tastes worse than anything I've ever had and we're running out. Therefore, my mom decided to get me Tylenol sore throat stuff. It....how to describe it...the consistency is horrible and i have to take TWO TABLESPOONS at a time. disgusting!

However, some good things came out of this surgery:
*I got a lot of attention from my parents and yes, even from Blake
*I got to miss a lot of school
*People came to visit me
*I got to sleep whenever I wanted to
*I STOPPED biting my nails...so glad to be done with that habit
*I lost a lot of weight...not necessarily the most healthy diet, but effective nonetheless

Well, my book is calling to me and I guess I have to read it sooner or later. *sigh* I hate schoolwork

Friday, April 21, 2006

you aunts are lucky i have nothing better to do with my time than update this blog!

i slept last night from midnight until 7 in the morning, took medicine, and proceeded to sleep until 1 in the afternoon. my first time sleeping through the night since the surgery! speaking of which, aunt julie has a pretty flattering picture of me "recovering" on my couch...and the other one isn't THAT graphic....maybe she just has a weak stomach.

today is friday. i'm even contemplating taking a shower, but i don't want to strain myself ;-)

Thursday, April 20, 2006

ok. today is my one-week anniversary of my surgery. WOOOOOOO i love anniversaries. but did i get any presents? a card? a single wildflower? nope. how upsetting.

anyway, i've been doing well. sitting at home watching television and wasting away while my throat struggles to repair itself from the horrendous acts performed to it one week ago. i tried to eat scrambled eggs tonight and they just wouldn't go down. it was so hard to just look at those poor eggs on my plate because they were so good. casse sure liked em.

i've been held in my house...who can tell me what the sun looks like again?

Friday, April 14, 2006

so i have a blog now...woohoo! hopefully i'll remember i have it...i'm pretty bad at these things.

so for those of you who are wondering how my new lack of a body part (aka tonsils) is going, i guess i'm as well as can be expected. however, who would like to hear a story about my dear old dad? he was supposed to wake me up at 6:00 in order to give me my medicine. however, i woke up at 6:30 because i couldn't breathe. i went into my parents' room and there my dad was, just layin on the bed bein all lazy. *sigh* some people.
